At Moodjar, we believe that experiencing Nyungar culture on Country brings kwop wirrin (good spirit) to our koorts (hearts). Feeling the boodjar (Country) beneath our djenna (feet) signifies a profound connection between our wirrin, body, koort and mind.
Immerse your staff and key stakeholders in a customised On-Country Cultural Immersion Experience led by Moodjar. Under the guidance of Nyungar Elder and Emeritus Professor Dr. Len Collard, your team can explore significant Whadjuk boodjar sites, including Wadjemup (Rottnest Island), the Swan River, Kaat Geenunginy Bo (Kings Park), and East Perth.
Dr. Collard will share the colonial history of these locations as an act of truth-telling, honouring the memories and stories of our Elders. You will also learn about the culturally significant history of these places for Nyungars before colonial settlement, and their enduring importance today. We can tailor your experience by incorporating local sites relevant to your organisation's work location. Moodjar will provide the local cultural context and recommended readings for those interested in delving deeper into the literature specific to each site.
An On-Country experience on Nyungar boodjar fosters team unity, cultural safety, and a deep sense of connection, serving as a powerful foundation for cultural capacity building within your organisation.
Please note that the client is responsible for arranging bus transportation and catering, if required.
