The training aims to provide the knowledge, skills and attitudes for effective engagement in diverse cultural contexts.
As an Aboriginal-owned and led organisation, Moodjar aims to guide stakeholders and the community along a shared cultural journey by sharing cultural knowledge and celebrating our collective history.
Moodjar contextualises its services to move beyond the impacts of ancient history and colonisation, acknowledging the past while integrating contemporary language and culture into a shared understanding of the workplace. Participants learn about Indigenous ways of knowing, lore, customs, and values.
Through the training participants will build learnings in cultural sensitivity, cultural competence, and improving intercultural communication skills. This training fosters diversity, equity and justice, while promoting inclusion, empathy, respect, and cultural safety by minimising misunderstandings and stereotypes.
The training incorporates interactive activities, case studies, and real-world examples and can be delivered through workshops or on-Country cultural tours. Ongoing support and resources encourage a continued growth while developing a global mindset and stronger relationships with diverse colleagues and stakeholders, ultimately promoting diversity, collaboration, and improved performance.
Moodjar's Cultural Competency Training aims to leave teams with increased knowledge, understanding and the power to change, alongside a sense of collective pride for our shared future.
