It was a weekend of winners for Moodjar's sponsorship teams - with the South Fremantle Football Club (SFFC) taking home the Premiership Cup, and the Karratha Kats Netball Club (KKNC) bagging four Premiership wins across the Junior and Senior Divisions.
Starting with Saturday - the Karratha Kats Netball teams played their hearts out in some exciting and nail-biting games. For the Juniors, Premiership wins were taken home by the Year 5/6 Division 3 team, and the Division 1A team. Mia Zaknich - Moodjar's Business Operations Manager, Vice President Junior for KKNC and Coach to two Club teams - had this to say about the Juniors wins:
The Year 5/6 Division 3 team went into the Grand Final as underdogs against a very strong opponent. The team showed grit, teamwork and determination, and it was really exciting to watch them come back from being behind in the Third Quarter to win the Premiership! The Open Juniors Division 1A team game was a thriller - with Kats winning by just one goal after losing to the same team in the 2024 Grand Final. These wins in particular were really proud moments for the Club and for me especially as the Vice President - Juniors.
For the Senior grades, there was a double Kats derby in both Division 3 and Division 4 - ensuring a win for the Club in both Divisions.
Moodjar's Mia was there throughout the day supporting all Kats teams, wearing her two hats proudly - one as Moodjar's representative as a Silver Kat Sponsor, and the other as a Coach and Vice President - Juniors for the Club. Mia noted that Moodjar were proud to be Silver Kat Sponsors of the Karratha Kats Netball Club, and this sponsorship gave naming rights to Moodjar for the 2025 Indigenous Round celebrations which was a special honour.
Mia outlined how Moodjar loves to support things that are meaningful to the organisation - and the KKNC is a Club that is not only well run, with integrity and heart, it also has strong respect for Indigenous culture, players, and members - and Moodjar hopes to continue this connection and support well into the future.
Then on Sunday the winning continued closer to home, as Moodjar's Len and Lisa Collard attended the WAFL Grand Final to support the South Fremantle Bulldogs in their thrilling 2-point victory against the East Perth Royals at Optus Stadium, while also celebrating the 125th year of the Bulldogs' history.
As Sponsors and long-term supporters of the SFFC, Len and Lisa firstly attended the President's lunch, before settling in at Optus Stadium with past SFFC Captain Brad Collard and his wife Jenny, to watch the exciting game - cheering on the Bulldogs to victory.
Celebrations back at the Club with the Cup saw a room full of current and past players, coaches, members, and friends and family for Len and Lisa. Lisa reflected on this moment, and Moodjar's long connection to the Club:
Len and I are both so passionate about the SFFC - my Dad played in the Golden Era of 1952, and was the Captain of the Reserve side who won the Premiership, while my Mum is a life member of the Club. Len played in the Colts and Reserves teams in 1977, and has a long family connection to the Club as well. So it's so special to us to be able to support the Club through Moodjar's sponsorship. To be a part of that history is priceless to us.
Moodjar congratulates the players and leadership of both the South Fremantle Football Club and Karratha Kats Netball Club on their success in season 2025.
