This workshop brought together key stakeholders and team members to learn and share the cultural history of the area and broader Nyungar culture.
Through this cultural capacity building, the workshop attendees were led through a process that brought together the academic literature available on the area, the cultural knowledge in the room, and the themes and values that were important to the site and staff, to choose a Nyungar name for the Welshpool facility – Boorna Wangkiny Mia – Home of the Message Stick.
