Moodjar’s cultural services are led by Elder, language speaker and Traditional Owner, Emeritus Professor Dr Len Collard. Len’s academic work has put Noongar cultural research on the local, national and internationalstage.
Combining handed down knowledge from his old people with a prestigious academic career, Len has developed a model for decoding Noongar placenames. This work holds the Noongar trilogy at its core, and from this base, organisations (big and small) can build their cultural narrative.
This exciting and innovative work is now embedded into Moodjar’s flagship programs. The decoding of ancient names is deeply connected to Aboriginal heritage, culture, language, art, and place-making. Moodjar draws on community engagement, development and education to share Noongar
kaartdijin (knowledge) with the world.
Moodjar can provide a range of cultural services and solutions for your organisation. Whether it be cultural programs, strategies, advice, oversight, or brokering cultural connections with the right people for the right purpose - we support organisations to effectively and confidently devise, implement and manage cultural journeys addressing areas of culture, heritage and language and truly working towards reconciliation with tangible outcomes.
